Puglia design: le ceramiche Carella su M Le Monde

Puglia design: Carella ceramics on M Le Monde

It is not uncommon to find in an antique shop some "green spotted" ceramics or bowls that for centuries our grandmothers have used for the most common purposes such as preserving food.

The decoration:

This style of decoration called "smammorizzato" or "Smamriato" was invented centuries ago by local artisans for the simplicity of the decoration, managing to obtain a decorated ceramic to sell at a low price.

The manufacturing process involves "splashing" the piece with colored enamel before being fired, the order in which the enamel droplets fall on the piece is completely random which makes each piece unique and inimitable!

The French magazine "M Le monde" in an article talked about our Limmi and how this tradition is still passed down through generations, our "smammorizzati" ceramics are part of the "Puglia design" collection which is born from the union of two styles: "Lo smamriato" and the centinato or "martinese".

In modern manufacturing processes combined with ancient manufacturing techniques of the past, as for all our table ceramics we use certified and food-grade glazes, available in different color variations, you can discover our entire collection of limmi and Puglia design Carella dinnerware by visiting the "table and kitchen" section of our website.
